Summary
Job Summary: Provides health care services to patients in a clinic setting under the direction and responsibility of a Board Certified Gastroenterologist. May conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive care and write prescriptions. Under the direction of a physician, provides health care services to patients. Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders X-rays, electrocardiograms, laboratory tests and other diagnostic procedures and interprets results. Instructs patients on prescribed therapeutic regimens, home care and health maintenance. Maintains required records and writes progress notes on patient charts as to status, treatments and procedures using electronic medical records.
Job Qualifications:
APRN - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) required; one or more years of hospital experience preferred; knowledge of nursing theory and practice required. Current Advanced Registered Nurse Practioner (ARNP) licensure in the State of Kansas or has work permit from the State Board of Nursing; National Board Certification (ANCC or AANPC). BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification within the first 2 weeks of employment. Possible travel to various locations in Kansas.
PA - Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required; one or more years of hospital experience preferred. Current Physician Assistant licensure in the State of Kansas or has a temporary license from the State Board of Healing Arts; National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required or within six to twelve months of employment; BLS certification required or must complete BLS certification within the first 2 weeks of employment. Possible travel to various locations in Kansas.
